Lobe pumps are frequently used in food applications because they offer superb sanitary qualities, high efficiency, reliability, corrosion resistance and good clean-in-place and steam-in-place (CIP/SIP) characteristics. The design of the lobes, casing and the principle of operation also ensures a gentle pumping action and reduces product degradation. Particle size pumped can be much larger in lobe pumps than in other positive displacement types. Rotary pumps can handle solids such as fruits, slurries, pastes, and a variety of other viscous liquids. If wetted, they offer self-priming performance.
Food Grade Centrifugal Pumps
Food Grade Centrifugal Pumps are used in processing and bulk transfer facilities and are highly efficient due to the impeller design and speed at which they can operate. They are also cost effective and can be utilised for a multitude of applications and conditions.
The pumps are limited to non-viscous product and are not suitable for shear-sensitive products such as beer, milk, cream and other products which may change their state if agitated. clean-in-place and steam-in-place (CIP/SIP) options are available.
